Who are the VEC?

Part of the Institute of Digital Engineering and Autonomous Systems (IDEAS), the VEC was established in 2010, with a remit to support the Northwest aerospace sector and industry by providing a focal point for leading and emergent technology, research, and expertise. The VEC has since become a national exemplar model for new technology exploitation across multiple sectors, including manufacturing, automotive, healthcare, heritage and more.

A leading technology innovation centre, the VEC offers technology development, research, training and knowledge transfer through the adoption and application of advanced visualisation and modelling, simulation, AI, 3D immersive technologies and more, supporting product design and process innovation to drive global competitiveness.

The VEC has developed an outstanding reputation for supporting SMEs in developing their digital strategies and driving change through implementing digital technologies to develop new products and processes whilst overcoming industrial challenges and barriers. The VEC has also worked alongside widely recognised organisations such as Bentley, Airbus, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, the Dogs Trust and St George’s Hall in the heart of Liverpool.
