Virtual Engineering has been readily adopted by the major Aerospace primes, enabling cost effective design, development and manufacture, reducing new product development risk and delivering a product that captures and meets customer requirements.
Autonomous Systems Development
Autonomous systems are technology based solutions that are required to decide for themselves what to do and when to do it. Such decisions are left to the systems to decide when direct human control becomes infeasible, impossible or too expensive. Autonomous systems replace humans in tasks that are mundane, dangerous and dirty, or detailed and precise, across sectors, including aerospace, nuclear, automotive and petrochemicals.
Our expertise and unique open access facilities such as the Virtual Engineering Simulation Laboratory (VESL) has also been used to support developments in Automotive, Nuclear, Marine and Space applications.
The VEC works closely with our academic research centres including the multi-disciplinary Centre for Autonomous Systems (CAST) based at the University of Liverpool.
The VEC supports the fundamental research developed at CAST by providing both exploitation and technology transfer expertise along with state-of-the-art facilities.
The VEC members have been extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They have helped us with modelling and kept us up to date with items of interest. They are readily approachable and open to new ideas...the work they have carried out will help us to win further investment for our product and provide a foundation for increasing the design space.
