£20 million export boost for our Liverpool supercar manufacturer partners – BAC

Our partners from Liverpool, supercar manufacturer, Briggs Automotive Company (BAC) secures new export win to Hong Kong and the United States, following support from the Department for International Trade (DIT). In January 2017, DIT awarded BAC Export Champion status.

Briggs Automotive Company (BAC) produces the world’s only road-legal, single-seat supercar in the BAC Mono. It launched a higher-powered, lighter, next-generation model – the BAC Mono R – in July 2019.

Together with Bristol based CFMS, the VEC and BAC demonstrated an exciting combined capability, using the very latest digital tools and techniques on the BAC Mono R at Digital Manufacturing Week, November 2019.

Founded in 2009 by brothers Neill and Ian Briggs, it now employs 30 staff and has dealership agreements in place in the US, Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, Sweden and Mexico.

BAC strategically targeted the US and has signed two new agreements with Manhattan Motorcars in New York and Tactical Fleet in Dallas. The BAC Hong Kong contract was also renewed with further Monos having been exported and a number of Mono R supercars to follow.

The company has been backed by support from the Department for International Trade (DIT).

Neill Briggs, director of product development at BAC Mono, said: “These new export wins are a sign of how far we’ve come as a business in recent years and the immense work we’re doing with exports.
