More features added to Festival line-up

More great speakers and sessions have been added to the line-up at the International Business Festival, which returns to Liverpool in June – and you can get discounted entry.
Newly-appointed UK Chief Scientific Adviser Dr Patrick Vallance, Gina Miller - whose campaign forced the government to consult Parliament over Brexit – and Shadow Business Secretary Rebecca Long-Bailey are among those added to the main Futures Stage line-up.
Other new additions include Royal Academy of Engineering CEO Dr Hayaatun Sillem and BBC North director Alice Webb. Meanwhile, all seven English Metro mayors will appear on stage together for the first time to discuss how devolution can help city-regions – and their businesses - thrive.
More details have been released about the Festival’s UK Innovation Hub, which will allow delegates to step into virtual worlds, with the help of Philharmonia Orchestra, immersive design studio Marshmallow Laser Feast and the Science Museum.
Others featured in the Best of British tech zone include Motion Robotics’ assistive living projects, the latest in autonomous transport from Westfield POD – which operates at Heathrow Airports T5 - and Wonderwall, an “intelligent living” system that sets the most efficient heating timings according to your behaviour patterns.
Practical sessions added to the Festival’s Knowledge Hub programme include Connected Vehicles: The Perfect Journey with Alan Yee, from design engineer Contechs, Martin Owen, of the National College for High Speed Rail and Stratis Kanarachos, of the Centre for Connected Autonomous Automotive Research.
Clarke Energy's Alex Marshall present a Masterclass in Distributed Energy Generation, vaccine developer Seqirus will discuss skills development in the health & life sciences sector, and the Creative Industries Federation’s Charlotte Chung will present on Navigating the World of Creative Industries Finance and Funding.
Meanwhile, the Institute of Directors will lead seminars on business leadership and the future of economics.
