Wirral is investing heavily in its future around its key sectors including engineering, energy and the maritime industry.

Key developments include Wirral Growth Company, which will see the creation of a £1bn joint venture development company, charged with bringing economic growth, investment and jobs to the borough. Key announcements are due on the council's joint venture partner, as well as an anchor tenant for the all new Maritime Knowledge Hub.

This event will bring together the key players with skin in the game including major landowners such as the council and Peel Holdings, new investors from the Growth Company, large employers such as Cammell Laird, higher education bodies such as LJMU and the local SME base to explore opportunities and gain consensus at this exciting point in the history of the peninsular.

The panel will discuss:

  • Building a world-class maritime hub.
  • Where is Wirral on its 20/20 vision, and where next for 2030?
  • What is the inward investment pitch, and how can everyone in the room help articulate it?
  • What are the plans for tourism, and specifically the hotel and resort pipeline?
  • How does Wirral become an exciting place to live, work, play and visit?

The hub is a business and technology incubator, a partnership between John Moores University, Mersey Maritime, Wirral Council and Peel Ports to support new technology in the sector.  Insider's event will bring together key players in Wirral's regeneration including landowners like Peel Holdings, new investors, large employers, and other stakeholders to explore the opportunities for Wirral and what is needed for the Peninsula to achieve its business goals.
