STFC Hartree Centre
Sci-Tech Daresbury is internationally recognised through the reputation of the STFC Daresbury Laboratory and Cockcroft Institute in leading research and development, and the successful establishment of its open innovation model.
Around 900 people work on the Daresbury Campus, with 400 STFC staff working on a range of projects in Accelerator Science, High Performance Computing (HPC) and Engineering Technology. Daresbury is also the home to the UK's most powerful supercomputer - Blue Joule.
STFC Daresbury Laboratory is home to world class facilities such as the Accelerator Science and Technology Centre (ASTeC) which houses the prototype accelerators ALICE and EMMA, the Nuclear Physics Group, the Detector Systems Centre, the Engineering Technology Centre, the Hartree Centre and the Computational Science and Engineering Department.
